Description
Key Properties of Sculptra Polylactic Acid Filler
Along with the most popular hyaluronic acid fillers, polylactic acid-based fillers are also widely used in rejuvenating injectable procedures. Like hyaluronic acid, polylactic acid is a biocompatible polymer, produced synthetically, poses no health risks, and is hypoallergenic. Unlike hyaluronate, which has an average lifespan of 6-12 months, the results of polylactic acid-based fillers last up to two years.
The Sculptra effect
Sculptra has been used in modern aesthetics for more than 20 years and, according to several statistics, has a high patient satisfaction. It is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable material that works with the body. It naturally stimulates the skin cells to produce their own collagen. The so-called Sculptra effect provides an immense collagen boost, which is induced after a certain time. During this time the body forms new connective tissue and visual improvements gradually become visible, which peak after about 3-4 months and can last up to two years.
Collagen and hyaluronic acid
Collagen is an elastic protein that maintains the elasticity and shape of the skin, while hyaluronic acid moisturizes the skin. Additional collagen thus allows the presence of more elastin and hyaluronic acid, which in turn makes the skin firmer and more hydrated.
